This is a black and white  monochrome painting using ink on Arches Watercolor paper.   The work is 22 x 30 inches and depicts (perhaps a family?) four snakes.
I started the snakes paintings in 2020. Previously I had incorporated in my large works on paperm thick lines that were comprised of the "ink dispersal technique" making  "wet on wet " color drops .
I enjoy the idea of taking something very simple, like a line and making it complicated by having it be composed of a specific texture and/or technique. By accident one sees a face and goes with it rendering the line into an animated figure. (the phenomena known as pareidolia )
