Tracey Emin I Could Have Really Loved You, 2011 Limited Edition Engraved Lavendar Soap Wrapped in Printed Poem 2 1/2 × 7 × 2 inches Edition of 3500 Back in 2011, Tracey Emin designed a limited edition engraved soap with original artwork packagiing for the UK charity "Art Against Knives" as part of Liberty of London's “National Treasures” collection. Three and a half thousand soaps were made, each individually wrapped in Emin designed paper bearing a poem by the famed artist. This is one of them. ART AGAINST KNIVES GALLERY supports young people at risk of violent crime in London's most isolated communities. When asked why she supports the charity, Tracey Emin replied: “Because I am against people stabbing each other. Full stop.” This soap is in its original packaging - smells lovely -- and needless to say it has not been used. Not surprisingly, within weeks of these Emin items being offered by Liberty of London and Art Against Knives, both stores, galleries and web sites completely sold out. Half a decade later, it is now a desirable vintage Tracey Emin collectible! Some people are such Tracey fans, I've even seen them frame and exhibit the soap in shadow boxes. At least they'll have delicious smelling walls. You could too! (Others, needless to say, washed themselves with them and discarded the wrapper - so we think there are far fewer than 3500 extant today!) So we say, splurge. It will make you feel good -- and smell good too!
