Bark Exploration IV, Abstract Tree Bark Contemporary Wooden Sculpture, 2019
16" x 16" x 1.5" (HxWxD) wood, acrylic, and resin wall-hanging

Inspired by the patterns of nature, a tree bark texture is inlaid in Japanese ash wood veneer and then filled by pouring a white acrylic. This abstract composition is then finished with resin.

Artist Biography: 
Marty's aim is to take his woodworking experience and apply it to art. Typically, this will involve wood as his foundation as he explores its various properties either for visual, textural or constructive purposes. Other augmentation with materials, mediums or treatments will usually follow, all with the intended purpose of increasing accessibility for art-lovers.
