Artist Commentary:
Art pieces utilizing reclaimed wood seem to be reasonably common, however, I wanted to try something different and incorporate some finesse into the finishing and shaping. I stumbled across some cypress at a nearby antique store and after considerable thought came up with this design.

The reclaimed sections juxtapose well with the sculpted copper-leafed sections and the orange edges really accentuate the curves.

Marty's aim is to take his woodworking experience and apply it to art. Typically, this will involve wood as his foundation as he explores its various properties either for visual, textural or constructive purposes.
